During pregnancy, an expectant mother’s body undergoes rapid changes. Changes to body shape size and weight gradually shift the body’s centre of gravity, ultimately causing the pelvis to tilt forward. This puts considerable tension on the lower back, thighs, hips, shoulders and neck. Overall, posture is negatively impacted. A pregnancy massage aims to release tense muscles, alleviate sore spots, improve circulation, increase mobility and aids both physical and mental relaxation.
